A small aircraft with four occupants crashed into impassable forest terrain in Gaming, in the district of Scheibbs in Lower Austria, on Sunday, killing two people and seriously injuring the other two, according to media reports and a spokesperson for Notruf Niederösterreich.

Crash in forested terrain near Gaming

The aircraft came down around 11:00 on Sunday morning in a wooded area of the municipality of Gaming, according to Austrian press agency APA. The plane had reportedly taken off earlier in Lower Austria before crashing into the forest. Emergency services were alerted at approximately 11:50, more than 40 minutes after the impact, reflecting the difficulty of locating the wreckage in the remote terrain.
