Two days after the partial collapse of an apartment building in Vienna's city center, rescue workers recovered the 85-year-old woman who had been missing since the disaster dead from the rubble.

The incident occurred last Monday on Färbergasse in Vienna's first district. After the partial collapse of a multi-story building in the immediate vicinity of the city center, the resident was initially suspected to be under the rubble and was not found for days. The rescue teams searched without interruption before the woman could now be recovered dead.

The news of the find confirmed the worst fears of the rescue workers and relatives. This brought an end to a search operation lasting several days in one of Vienna's most densely built areas. According to the Vienna Professional Fire Department, the recovery work was extremely difficult due to the risk of further parts of the building collapsing.
