Vienna, 20 May 2026
Two individuals previously acquitted in the 'Fall Anna' case appeared in court again on Wednesday, accused of committing an armed robbery in Vienna-Simmering in June 2025.
A 21-year-old and a 17-year-old, both previously acquitted in the high-profile 'Fall Anna' case, are now accused of participating in a violent armed robbery. The incident occurred just two months after their acquittal in the earlier case.
According to prosecutors, the pair allegedly attacked a supermarket owner in Vienna-Simmering with pepper spray, brutally beat him, and robbed him of a phone, car keys, and a wallet containing 4,000 euros in cash.
All four defendants in the case have confessed to their roles in the robbery. The 21-year-old was identified through DNA evidence and admitted to the crime, with his defense attorney stating: "Da gibt es überhaupt nichts zu diskutieren. Alles, was die Staatsanwaltschaft vorwirft, ist richtig" ("There's nothing to discuss here. Everything the prosecution alleges is correct").
