Typhoon Saudel swept into the East China Sea early on Wednesday, triggering flight cancellations in Taiwan and ferry suspensions along China's eastern and southeastern coast as regional authorities raised their alert level.
Storm enters East China Sea
Saudel made its entrance into the East China Sea in the early hours of Wednesday, according to multiple regional weather agencies, and has since pushed transport operators and emergency services into preparation mode. The storm's arrival comes as a separate weakening system, Narra, continues to dump torrential rain across parts of the region, compounding the flood risk in low-lying coastal communities.
