The major bank UBS achieved a pre-tax profit of 3.6 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2026 and announced a new share buyback program of up to three billion dollars through the end of the second quarter of 2027.
UBS's pre-tax profit rose 64 percent year-over-year in the second quarter to 3.6 billion dollars, the institution reported on Wednesday in Zurich. Adjusted for restructuring costs, pre-tax profit came in at 3.89 billion dollars, 45 percent above the prior-year figure. Net profit reached 2.8 billion dollars, an increase of 17 percent compared to the previous year.
Wealth Management Grows Strongly
In its core business, global wealth management, UBS gathered net new client assets of 35.5 billion dollars during the quarter. According to the bank's own figures, the major bank manages assets totaling 7,300 billion dollars. The bank also recorded net new money inflows in its still challenging US business, with inflows in the United States alone amounting to one billion dollars.
