Paris, July 13, 2026

At the meeting of the "Coalition of the Willing" in Paris, Ukraine and nine European partner countries agreed to establish an integrated missile defense against ballistic attacks.

The initiative was the central outcome of a meeting of the so-called "Coalition of the Willing" in Paris. The participating states include Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and six other European countries, bringing the total number of European partners to nine. With Ukraine, a tenth partner is added.

Goal: joint defense against ballistic missiles

The declared aim of the new coalition is to build a joint defense capability against ballistic missiles. The experience of Ukraine is to be explicitly drawn upon, as over the past years of war it has built up extensive expertise in dealing with missile and drone attacks. In this context, Kyiv presented a new missile defense program to its allies.
