Ukraine faced one of its largest aerial assaults since the war began as Russian forces launched over 800 drones and 56 missiles overnight, killing at least one person and injuring 40 in Kyiv, according to Ukrainian officials.

Widespread Strikes and Civilian Damage

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attacks as "terror," with heavy shelling reported in the regions of Kharkiv, Odesa, and Sumy. Kyiv’s military administration initially counted 31 injured and one fatality in the capital, while the Civil Defense later raised the total wounded to 40.

Zelenskyy stated that 20 sites in Kyiv sustained damage, including residential buildings, a school, and other civilian infrastructure. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed 31 injured required hospitalization, and 18 apartments were destroyed in one residential complex alone.
