In the night of 26 August 2026, Ukraine launched a new wave of drone attacks on several Russian regions, with the capital Moscow also being a target of the strikes according to Russian reports.

Long-range attacks

According to information from Russian official circles, the attacks in the early morning hours were directed against several regions in the country's interior as well as against the capital. Mikhail Razvozhayev, the Moscow-appointed governor of the port city of Sevastopol in Crimea, announced via social media that three Ukrainian "Flamingo" cruise missiles had been intercepted over the Black Sea. He stated verbatim: "Drei ukrainische Marschflugkörper vom Typ 'Flamingo' seien über dem Schwarzen Meer abgefangen worden."
