A Reuters witness saw flames and thick black smoke rising over the southeastern district of Kapotnya, where the refinery is located.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin confirmed the strikes on his Telegram channel, writing that air defence forces were continuing to repel a massive attack. "Air defence forces continue to repel a massive attack. Several drones managed to reach the Moscow oil refinery," Sobyanin said. He added that Moscow had downed more than five dozen drones on Thursday.
