Russian Drone Strikes Apartment Block in Romania

Previous Incidents

The incident is the latest in a series of drone breaches of Romanian airspace, with Russian drones having entered the country's airspace 28 times since Moscow began attacking Kyiv's ports across the Danube River.

Last month, two British aircraft were scrambled after Russian drones approached Romanian airspace from Ukraine, but the drones did not breach the border and the British aircraft did not engage them.

Debris from the drones fell on a farm in the Romanian town of Văcăreni, highlighting the risks posed by the drones to civilians and infrastructure.

NATO Involvement

NATO has condemned Russia's actions, with a spokesperson stating that 'We condemn Russia's recklessness, and Nato will continue to strengthen our defences against all threats, including drones'.
