Upper Austria's Governor Thomas Stelzer (ÖVP) has spoken out in favor of a nationwide uniform social assistance scheme, pointing to his state's model. He called on the federal government and Social Minister Korinna Schumann (SPÖ) to "endlich" (finally) put forward a corresponding proposal. With this initiative, Stelzer aims to revive the years-long smoldering conflict between the federal government and the states over the design of the minimum income scheme.
