The Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor (AK) tested eight children's balance bikes, rating two models with the grade "nicht genügend" (insufficient).
In its latest quality test, the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor examined eight children's balance bikes for safety and workmanship. The prices of the tested bikes ranged from 35.20 to 89.99 euros. Overall, the grades were mixed: ratings of "sehr gut" (very good), "gut" (good), and "befriedigend" (satisfactory) were each given twice.
The cheapest product received a "gut" (good), while the most expensive received a "sehr gut" (very good). However, the second most expensive product, only 9 cents cheaper, received the grade "nicht genügend" (insufficient). This shows that a high price alone is no guarantee of quality.
