Upper Austrian State Police Director Andreas Pilsl presented an AI avatar named 'Charlotte' in a Facebook video, positioning the digital character as a new virtual staff member intended to support cybercrime training for officers and prosecutors.
The Upper Austrian State Police Directorate unveiled 'Charlotte' on 7 July, describing the AI-generated avatar as a tool for preparing training materials, generating realistic cyberattack scenarios and explaining complex digital relationships. According to the directorate, the avatar is designed to assist instructors at the regional cybercrime training center, where both police officers and prosecutors specializing in digital investigation methods are taught. Pilsl introduced the character in a social-media video, marking a formal rollout after internal testing of the system.
