The United States said it has attacked targets in Iran for the fifth day in a row. According to the US military, this represents a new wave of strikes against Iran, targeting critical infrastructure. According to reports, the strikes were triggered by threats from US President Donald Trump to attack critical infrastructure in Iran.
Iran responded by firing on targets in the region. In addition, Iran threatened to blockade the Red Sea, following the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran described control of the Strait of Hormuz as a "red line" and warned of massive retaliation should the attacks continue.
