Boston, June 13, 2026

A federal judge in Boston has instructed the US government to reinstall information panels on topics such as slavery and climate change in national parks by July 4, 2026 — panels that had previously been removed on the orders of President Donald Trump — and to remove Trump's name from the Kennedy Center.

Federal Judge Angel Kelley in Boston issued a temporary injunction on Friday requiring the government to restore, in a timely manner, the exhibit elements and interpretive panels in the national parks that had been taken down as part of an order by President Donald Trump. She also ordered the removal of Trump's name from the facade, the website, and other materials of the Kennedy Center in Washington, according to court documents. The date July 4, 2026, carries symbolic weight: it marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.
