The New York Times reported on Thursday, citing two senior European insiders, that the US wants to significantly reduce its military contributions to NATO in Europe. According to the report, fighter jets, surveillance aircraft and other platforms would be available for joint operations in significantly smaller numbers than before. NATO and the US Department of Defense initially did not respond to requests for comment.
