The Salzburg native Vali Höll won the Downhill World Cup race in La Thuile on Saturday, celebrating her fourth season victory of the current season.
Höll prevailed on the 2.3-kilometer course with 641 meters of elevation difference, posting a time of 3:58.469 minutes. Her Swiss teammate at Commencal, Lisa Baumann, finished in second place. Third place went to New Zealand's Sacha Earnest, 0.473 seconds back.
With her victory in La Thuile, Höll further extended her lead in the World Cup overall standings. The Salzburg rider commands the standings with 1,015 points. Baumann follows with 652 points in second — a gap of 363 points between the two.
Comfortable lead in the overall standings
The outing in the Italian Alps was already the fourth World Cup race Höll has won this season. Just two weeks earlier, the world champion had finished second in Lenzerheide.
