Rome, 17 June 2026

Tens of thousands of "Vespisti" from around the world are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Vespa in Rome from 16 to 21 June 2026, including 165 participants from Austria, who are being led by Vespa Club Austria President Barbara Schieder.

The "Vespa World Days" are a tribute to an icon that has been bringing generations, styles and cultures together around the world since 1946. A "Vespa Village" will be set up for the occasion at the historic Roman sports complex Foro Italico. The highlight of the celebrations is a grand parade on the 27th.

Rome's Mayor Roberto Gualtieri described the "Wespe" (wasp) as an icon of Italian culture at the presentation of the "Vespa World Days". He pointed to films such as "Ein Herz und eine Krone" ("Roman Holiday") or "Caro Diario" ("Dear Diary") by Roman director Nanni Moretti, which had shaped the connection between the city and the cult scooter.
