The City of Vienna announces sanctions against participants in the asylum program Jugendcollege who are absent without excuse, threatening gradual cuts or the withdrawal of the minimum income benefit.
The Vienna Jugendcollege, a program for the integration and preparation of young asylum seekers for the labor market, will in future place greater emphasis on attendance controls. As the city announced on Monday, participants with excessive absences must expect sanctions. These include the gradual reduction or complete withdrawal of the minimum income benefit, as stated in a press release: "Sie müssen mit Sanktionen wie der schrittweisen Reduktion oder dem Entzug der Mindestsicherung rechnen."
