On Wednesday, the Vienna Greens called on the city government for rapid immediate aid as well as a long-term heat protection plan and demanded the establishment of a heat crisis task force to coordinate measures across departmental boundaries.
Greens' Demands
At a press event on Wednesday, one day after the city's announcement of measures, Peter Kraus, chairman of the Greens Vienna, sharply criticized the city government. He got the impression that the city government had "gone underground" during the summer. Several weeks have passed since then, "but far too little has happened," Kraus criticized. It must stop looking away and "get going," Kraus said.
