The Vienna Greens presented a comprehensive heat protection plan at Rathauspark on Thursday and called on the red-pink city government to do significantly more for schools, hospitals, care homes, and densely built urban areas in light of current heat waves.

The Vienna Greens' party and club leaders, Judith Pühringer and Peter Kraus, presented the plan in front of the Rathaus as a response to the ongoing heat wave. Pühringer said that public facilities such as schools, hospitals, public transport, and densely built areas that heat up significantly must finally become climate-fit: "Die öffentlichen Einrichtungen wie Schulen, Spitäler, Öffis und auch dicht bebaute Gebiete, die sich stark aufheizen, müssen endlich klimafit werden."
