The Viennese drug help center "checkit!" is opening a second location in the Meidling U4-Center, expanding its drug-checking services. In addition to the existing site on Gumpendorfer Straße, more samples will be analyzed and more counseling sessions held going forward.

Vienna's Addiction and Drug Coordination office announced on Tuesday that the drug help center "checkit!" is opening a second location in the Meidling U4-Center, thereby expanding its drug-checking services in Vienna.

Background: EUDA Report and New Risks

With the opening of the new location, the City of Vienna is responding to the current drug report from the European Union Drugs Agency (EUDA). As Vienna's Addiction and Drug Coordination office stated on Tuesday, the report points out that the European drug market is becoming increasingly diverse, dynamic and therefore more risky. Against this backdrop, the proven "checkit!" services are to be made more easily accessible.

The new "checkit!" premises are located in the Meidling U4-Center. This adds a second fixed location alongside the existing help center on Vienna's Gumpendorfer Straße. The expansion was explicitly conceived as a low-threshold service, the coordination office said. Users should be able to submit samples and receive counseling more easily as a result.
