Volkswagen is consolidating its driver-assistance development and restructuring its software subsidiary Cariad into a smaller, speed-focused technology organization.

Volkswagen is changing both the development of driver-assistance systems and the organization of its software subsidiary Cariad. The company intends to turn Cariad into a new, smaller, speed-focused tech organization. The reorganization therefore affects both technology development and the internal structure of the unit responsible for it.

The restructuring is intended to advance work on selected high-leverage products at Porsche vz. Volkswagen is relying on an organization designed to work more quickly and offer competitive working conditions. A company spokesperson said: “We are restructuring Cariad into a new, smaller, speed-focused tech organization with competitive working conditions”.
