German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) held political talks in Nigeria on the third day of his four-day Africa trip, focusing on economy, energy and security.
On the third day of his Africa trip, political talks are the focus for the German foreign minister in Nigeria. Wadephul had traveled to Mauritania on Monday and is expected in South Africa on Thursday. The trip takes him through three countries that play a growing role for German foreign and economic policy in Africa.
In Lagos, Nigeria's economic metropolis, Wadephul met with influencers, a musician, a cultural entrepreneur and a filmmaker, according to his delegation. He said: "Von diesem Unternehmergeist, von diesem Kreativgeist können wir in Europa und in Deutschland viel lernen." He announced that he would take the impressions back to Germany: "Deswegen nehme ich von hier auch mit, dass wir an unserer Offenheit, an unserer Flexibilität arbeiten sollten."
