Sahra Wagenknecht has turned to the AfD politician Björn Höcke with an appeal and suggested a conversation about her proposal for a cross-party minister-president, which she also sees as a model for Saxony-Anhalt.
The initiative is directed at the leadership of the AfD in Thuringia, where the question of forming a government has been open for some time. Wagenknecht stated that a cross-party minister-president could represent a political solution that finds acceptance across the existing camps. She also pointed to Saxony-Anhalt as a possible further application.
With the initiative, Wagenknecht is attempting to build a bridge to a party from which her own grouping, the "Bündnis Sahra Wagenknecht," maintains programmatic distance. At the same time, she makes clear that she does not want the proposal to be limited to Thuringia.
