Vorarlberg's Governor Markus Wallner (ÖVP), in his new role as chair of the Conference of State Governors, used his inaugural visit to Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen to urge greater pace in the reform partnership between the federal government and the states.

Speaking on Tuesday on Ö1's "Mittagsjournal," Wallner described only about a third of the journey as having been completed. There was "still a long road to travel," so one should "carry out the financial assessment as quickly as possible," Wallner said. At the same time, he pointed out that the legislative process for the reform partnership still needed two central building blocks: "Damit fehlen noch zwei wesentliche Komponenten."
