Jackson Hole, August 28, 2026
The new head of the US Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh, expressed concern about inflation at the meeting of monetary policymakers in Jackson Hole in the US state of Wyoming, while emphasizing that his remarks should not be understood as binding signals for the future course of interest rates.
In his speech before central bankers, economists, and financial market participants, Warsh warned of the risks of persistent inflation. He pointed out that price pressure undermines the credibility of monetary policy if the central bank reacts too hesitantly. He did not, however, provide a concrete roadmap for interest rate hikes.
