The broadcasting corporations WDR and MDR have released an augmented reality app in which contemporary witnesses such as Elke Rosin, Uwe Rutkowski, and Jörg Hildebrandt report on the construction of the Berlin Wall and its consequences.
The application consolidates oral testimonies from several German cities, including Berlin and Halle, and links them with augmented reality elements that make historical locations visible. The aim of the project is to open up an emotional access to German-German history for younger generations who did not experience it themselves.
Among the central voices in the app is Elke Rosin. According to the involved editorial teams, the recording was confirmed by three independent sources.
