Wolfsberger AC has handed 20-year-old Marco Schabauer a two-year contract from Admira Wacker, effective immediately.
The move was officially announced over the weekend. According to a club statement, it is an immediate transfer: „Nun unterschreibt der variabel einsetzbare Mittelfeldspieler im Lavanttal einen Vertrag über zwei Jahre und verstärkt ab sofort das Wolfsrudel, teilt der Verein mit." The attacking midfielder brings experience from 42 competitive appearances in the second division, in which he recorded a total of six scoring contributions.
In the past season, the Lower Austrian native featured in 29 competitive matches for Admira Wacker, scoring two goals and adding two assists. Overall, Schabauer played 42 games for the Mödling side across two seasons, „in denen ihm je drei Tore und Vorlagen gelangen". For the 20-year-old with roots in Aspang, the move represents the next logical step in his still-young career, according to the club.
