A 58-year-old woman died in Rhineland-Palatinate after being struck by a falling tree during severe thunderstorms and heavy rain that moved across parts of Germany, while a 47-year-old woman suffered serious wounds in the same incident.

Severe weather systems bringing thunderstorms and intense rainfall swept across several regions of Germany, leaving at least one person dead and another seriously injured. According to a summary corroborated by eleven sources, a 58-year-old woman in Rhineland-Palatinate was killed when a tree toppled onto her during the storms.

Police said a second woman was hurt in the same incident. "Eine weitere Frau erlitt dabei schwere Verletzungen, wie die Polizei mitteilte," according to the report.
