The environmental organization WWF announced on Monday that three rare wild-water grasshopper species have largely disappeared from the catchment area of the Tyrolean Inn and is calling for the protection of the Ötztaler Ache.

The environmental organization WWF has documented the disappearance of three rare grasshopper species in the Tyrolean Inn. According to the WWF, the affected species are the three wild-water grasshoppers "Türks Dornschrecke", "Kiesbank-Grashüpfer" and "Gefleckte Schnarrschrecke". The Ötztaler Ache is said to be the last known location of these species in Tyrol.
