Course of the accident on the L104

The teenager was traveling around 2 p.m. in his car on the L104 coming from Gasen in the direction of Haslau when he suddenly noticed a spider on his steering wheel. Due to the shock, his vehicle veered into the oncoming lane and sideswiped an oncoming public bus, which was being driven by a 44-year-old bus driver.

The bus driver still initiated an evasive maneuver, which brought the public bus to a halt in the adjacent roadside ditch as well. The 17-year-old was trapped in his severely damaged car by the force of the collision and had to be freed from the wreckage by the fire department.
