33-year-old arrested after attack on taxi driver in Salzburg

Course of events: Dispute over the fare

In the course of extensive investigations and the evaluation of evidence, a 33-year-old Austrian citizen was identified as the main perpetrator. After the arrest warrant was issued, police officers arrested the 33-year-old at his residential address on June 29 and took him to Salzburg correctional facility.

In addition to the alleged main perpetrator, a 29-year-old and a 25-year-old fellow passenger were also reported to the Salzburg Public Prosecutor's Office. In connection with the unpaid fare, they are being reported on suspicion of fraud. The exact background of the dispute over the fare is still the subject of investigations.
