A 33-year-old Austrian was arrested at the end of June because he is alleged to have struck and injured a 57-year-old taxi driver in the face with a drinking cup in mid-June. Police tracked him down through investigations and evaluation of evidence.

A 33-year-old Austrian citizen was arrested on June 29 because he is alleged to have struck and injured a 57-year-old taxi driver in the face with a drinking cup on June 12 in Salzburg.

In the night of June 12, shortly before 1 a.m., a 57-year-old taxi driver in the city of Salzburg called the police. He stated that he had been attacked by youths. As the investigations revealed, the incident had escalated during a ride in a taxi in the city of Salzburg.

During a dispute over the fare to be paid, one of the passengers deliberately and with considerable force struck the taxi driver in the face with a drinking cup he had with him. The driver was injured as a result. All three persons then fled the scene on foot.
