A 36-year-old man was discovered motionless in the swimming pool at the Traiskirchen outdoor pool in the district of Baden on Thursday, was recovered by the pool team and resuscitated, before being taken to Wiener Neustadt hospital by emergency medical helicopter.
According to reports, the incident occurred in the early evening. Lifeguards pulled the man, who was floating lifeless at the bottom of the pool, from the water and immediately began resuscitation measures. The Samariterbund then took over further care of the patient.
As the municipality of Traiskirchen announced, the pool team instructed the visitors present to remove their towels and swimwear from the lawn so that the requested rescue helicopter could land directly at the outdoor pool. This also worked smoothly thanks to the assistance of the bathers, as Irene Kari reported.
