A 65-year-old motorcycle rider was measured at 205 km/h on Tuesday midday on the Mariazeller Straße (B20) in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag and subsequently stopped by a plainclothes police patrol.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at midday on the B20, which runs as the Mariazeller Straße toward the pilgrimage site of Mariazell in Styria. According to police, the 65-year-old rider passed a plainclothes police patrol at significantly excessive speed.
The officers immediately pursued and were subsequently able to stop the motorcyclist. A speed measurement showed 205 km/h, according to police – a figure far exceeding the permissible maximum speeds on this stretch.
Police have recorded the case and initiated an investigation. The 65-year-old is likely to face corresponding administrative penalties and the revocation of his driving license, as speed violations of this magnitude are considered serious traffic offenses.
