On Sunday, according to police, around 50,000 people want to demonstrate in Geneva against the G7 summit in the French town of Évian, roughly 50 kilometers away, prompting the Swiss border city to mobilize more than 7,000 security personnel – including reinforcements from across Switzerland and the army.
Demonstration and Security Precautions
The demonstration is registered as "No G-7," referring to the meeting of heads of state and government from Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Canada, Japan, and the USA starting tomorrow in Évian, France. In the Swiss border city of Geneva, thousands of opponents of the G7 summit in the French town of Évian want to protest on Sunday against capitalism, exploitation, and much more.
