The Federal Statistical Office announced on Monday that the average airline ticket prices in Germany in the first half of 2026 rose by 8.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
The Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) in Wiesbaden published the new price indices for travel on Monday. According to these, flights in the first six months of 2026 became on average 8.5 percent more expensive compared to the same period of the previous year. As the agency noted, airline tickets are thus once again significantly above the general rate of inflation.
