The aircraft manufacturer Airbus raised its financial targets through 2029 at an investor day in London and announced a new share buyback program worth €5 billion.
Airbus intends to earn significantly more in the coming years. As the company, which is listed in the German blue-chip DAX index, announced on Tuesday evening ahead of an investor event in London, adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (adjusted EBIT) are to grow to €12 to €13 billion by 2029. For the current 2026 financial year, CEO Guillaume Faury is targeting around €7.5 billion, which would put the company slightly above the prior-year figure of €7.1 billion.
With its 2029 outlook, Airbus has noticeably raised its own medium-term targets as part of its "Business Update." The world's largest aircraft manufacturer also confirmed its guidance for the current year. Free cash flow before customer financing is expected to come in at €4.5 billion in 2026, in line with the prior year's level. The Airbus share rose by around one percent in after-hours trading on the Tradegate platform compared to the Xetra closing price.
