Despite the failed project in Reichersberg, the US logistics group Amazon is sticking with its commitment in Upper Austria and, in addition to the distribution center currently under construction at the Enns port, is planning another "Last Mile" center in Schalchen, as Economics Minister Markus Achleitner announced in response to a parliamentary question from the Greens.
The US group Amazon is continuing to expand its logistics infrastructure in Upper Austria. As Economics Minister Markus Achleitner stated in response to a parliamentary question from the Greens, a distribution center is currently being built at the Enns port near Enns and is scheduled to go into operation in spring 2027. The groundbreaking ceremony took place there around two months ago. According to the minister, the facility is a so-called "Last Mile" distribution center, from which packages will be delivered to end customers in the region.
