Paris, June 6, 2026

Russian player Mirra Andrejewa has won the French Open women's singles final in Paris, defeating Maja Chwalinska in two sets.

The French Open, one of the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments, is played on clay courts and traditionally took place in Paris this year. In the women's singles final on Saturday, Mirra Andrejewa and Maja Chwalinska faced each other – it was the first direct encounter between the two players.

Background of the Final

Andrejewa, who entered the final as world number eight, was considered the favorite. The 19-year-old had already celebrated success on the Parisian clay courts in the past, having previously won the junior title at the French Open. This prior success on the same surface was seen as an additional indicator of her strength on clay.
