Due to the disposal of five duds from World War II, the railway line between the major cities of Augsburg and Ulm must be temporarily closed on Tuesday evening.
As the responsible authorities announced, a total of five duds from World War II have been discovered in the section between Augsburg and Ulm. According to the findings, the discoveries are American aerial bombs that were located during probing work in the vicinity of the railway line. The disposal of the duds will take place on Tuesday evening, which is why rail traffic on this important connection in Swabia must come to a complete standstill.

According to the authorities, not only the rail line is affected by the closure, but also the B 10 federal highway in the affected area. Road users and commuters must prepare for wide-ranging detours. According to those responsible, the measure is necessary because, in the event of a controlled detonation, a sufficient safety radius must be established around the discovery sites. Adjacent districts of Neu-Ulm are also located within the cordoned-off area.
