Austria's administration has received its own AI application with GovGPT, which is intended to support around 250,000 public employees in their work by the end of the year, as State Secretary for Digitalization Alexander Pröll announced on Monday at a press briefing.

What GovGPT is designed to do

GovGPT is part of the "Public AI" initiative presented in March and, according to the State Secretary, is tailored to the federal administration. Pröll said they had built something that "wirklich dem Anspruch eines modernen digitalen Staates gerecht wird". The tool runs on servers of the federal data center and is described as a "vertrauenswürdiges, souveränes" tool.
