Austrian swimmers Valentin Bayer, Luka Mladenovic and Martin Espernberger advanced to the semifinals of the 50-meter breaststroke event at the long-course European Championships in Paris on Friday, while all other OSV athletes missed out on progressing to the next round.

The long-course European Championships in Paris delivered a positive day for the Austrian swimming team on Friday evening. Valentin Bayer and Luka Mladenovic, who had won the bronze medal over 200 meters breaststroke on Thursday, advanced to the final twelve in the 50-meter breaststroke event. Martin Espernberger also managed to make the jump into the semifinals, meaning the Österreichischer Schwimmverband (OSV) has three semifinalists in the breaststroke sprint.
