The consortium of Stadler and Siemens Mobility received the legally binding award on July 8 as part of the S-Bahn tender and will, from 2032, deliver a total of 350 new half-trains with 1,400 cars for the Berlin S-Bahn on the city line and the North-South connection.

After years of legal disputes, the way is now clear for new vehicles for the Berlin S-Bahn. The consortium of Stadler and Siemens Mobility has received the legally binding award as part of the S-Bahn tender and will, from 2032, deliver a total of 350 new half-trains with 1,400 cars on the city line and the North-South connection. The Ringbahn is not included. Given the complex tender with several award lots and a total volume of around 15 billion euros, the process took significantly longer than originally planned.
