Berlin's tram lines M5 and M17 resumed normal service on Thursday evening, a day earlier than expected, after crews completed repairs to overhead lines damaged in a tram accident earlier this week in the Lichtenberg district, operator BVG said.
Tram lines M5 and M17 in Berlin returned to regular operation on Thursday evening following successful final test runs, the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) announced. The resumption came roughly a day ahead of the schedule BVG had previously indicated. A replacement transport service that had been set up during the closure was discontinued once trams began running again.
