More than a week after his disappearance, search teams have found the body of a 53-year-old motorcyclist from Weil der Stadt on a country road in the northern Black Forest near Gernsbach.
According to initial findings by investigators, the man had come off the road with his motorcycle in a right-hand bend and crashed. There are no indications of involvement by other road users, police confirmed on request. The 53-year-old sustained fatal injuries in the fall.
Family members had reported the man missing on 4 June after he failed to return from a motorcycle tour in the Black Forest. According to police, the 53-year-old had last been seen near Seewald-Erzgrube in the Freudenstadt district, not far from the Nagold Dam. From there, according to the information provided, he had been travelling on a country road towards Kaltenbronn and Gernsbach in the Rastatt district.
