A car driver lost his life on Friday afternoon in a collision with a passenger train at an unguarded railway crossing in the Bad König district of Etzen-Gesäß (Odenwald).
Course of the Accident on Friday Afternoon
According to police, the accident occurred around 12:15 p.m. At an unguarded railway crossing in Bad König, a car collided with a train. The car driver died. The railway crossing was secured with a flashing red St. Andrew's Cross. The driver apparently disregarded the warning light.
At the same time, a car was traveling south on Franz-Holl-Straße. A passenger train was, according to reports, traveling north from Bad König. The exact circumstances of how the collision at the unguarded railway crossing could occur are the subject of the investigation.
