Gerlingen, 26 June 2026
Stefan Hartung is leaving the helm of the foundation-owned Bosch group before the expiry of his contract, which runs until 2031; according to company information released on Friday (26 June 2026), his former deputy Christian Fischer will take over as chairman of the management board on 1 July.
The change at the top of the group comes as a surprise: Stefan Hartung, originally from Dortmund and a doctor of economics, is withdrawing earlier than planned. The company confirmed this on Friday, citing a personal decision by the manager. The supervisory board said it regretted the departure and expressly honoured Hartung's work.
