The Bundeswehr intends to support the Polish army in protecting NATO's eastern border not far from the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, as the Ministry of Defense announced in Berlin.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of an arms buildup of the Polish border security that has been ongoing for months. Near the village of Budry, not far from the border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast, a defensive installation consisting of three rows of so-called concrete dragon's teeth, a deep trench, and a further line of concrete blocks directly along the border is currently under construction. The installation, located approximately 200 meters from the border, consists of three rows of these concrete blocks. Directly at the border are a deep trench and another line of concrete dragon's teeth.
