The Carolina Hurricanes won Game 2 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final against the Vegas Golden Knights 4-3 in overtime, tying the best-of-seven series at 1-1.
After losing the opening game 4-5, the Hurricanes put on an impressive comeback in their home game in Raleigh. The Golden Knights were already leading 2-0 after two periods, but the hosts fought their way back into the game and forced overtime.
Logan Stankoven scored to make it 2-1 after the Golden Knights made a defensive error. Just 2 minutes and 26 seconds later, Mark Jankowski equalized, setting the stage for a comeback. Jordan Staal even gave the Hurricanes a 3-2 lead.
However, the joy was short-lived: Mark Stone equalized for Vegas to make it 3-3, forcing overtime. In the fourth minute of overtime, Seth Jarvis's moment arrived, as he decided the game with a precise slapshot. The decisive goal came on the power play after the visitors had taken a penalty.
